Does anyone here know if nintendo switch games download faster while in sleep mode and docked mode? There are some videos on youtube of people claiming that they do and I was wondering if anyone on here has tried this or can verify that this is accurate information.
Fist of all, this article: -the-nintendo-switch-download-faster-in-sleep-mode-2950839^^ talks about the subject and claims that while in sleep mode and docked, their nintendo switch was able to download game titles about 15% faster than while not. They tested the theory themselves and that is what they determined. Also, they share this video which apparently they got the original concept from:

With the launch of the Nintendo Switch, gamers everywhere are wondering about all the new features. One question that many people have is whether or not games will be downloaded while it is a asleep.
The Nintendo Switch will download games while it is in sleep mode just like it will when the console is on. So if you purchase a game on the Nintendo eShop using your phone or computer your Switch will start downloading that game immediately even if the console is in sleep mode.
The main benefit of using sleep mode on your Switch is that your device will save some power so that you can play it for longer later without needing to charge it. When your Switch is in sleep mode it can still download games if needed but beyond that, all of the processes will be shut off to conserve power.
Leaving your Switch in sleep mode allows you to increase the battery life because while in sleep mode your Switch uses far less battery. This is because the screen is not on and very few processes are running on the hardware.
This method is really only needed if you are planning on not using your Switch for an extended period of time such as when traveling cross country, moving, etc. Nintendo recommends just using sleep mode for regular day-to-day use of the Switch.
Nintendo says you can leave your Nintendo Switch plugged in 24/7 if you want. They also say that you should get more than 10 hours of battery life if you are keeping it in sleep mode when it is actively downloading games.
If your Switch is not doing anything (downloading games) when in sleep mode the battery will last for multiple weeks without dying. Exactly how long it will last in sleep mode depends on which Switch console you have and how old the console is as well.
The Switch does download faster in sleep mode. When the Switch is in sleep mode, it uses less power and therefore has more resources available to devote to downloading. This means that the download speed is faster when the Switch is in sleep mode.
Earlier tonight I bought Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment from the Nintendo Switch's eShop, expecting the console to auto-download the game while it's sleeping in its cradle. However I soon found out that the Switch tablet's Sleep Mode functionality isn't the same as the PS4, and it won't download games while asleep.
According to the status message sent by Nintendo, the Switch has to be awakened out of Sleep Mode before it will download digital eShop games. "Your download will begin once you wake your Nintendo Switch from Sleep mode. The time required to download may vary. You can check the status of your download via the icon displayed on the Nintendo Switch HOME Menu," read the message.
A complete shutdown saves the battery from draining and multiple recharge cycles. Although the battery drain during Sleep Mode is insignificant, it does happen. If you let the console stay in this mode, the battery could discharge itself completely.
When you need to use a system frequently, the Sleep mode allows you to pick up the game where you left it. You can also shut down most system processes while preserving battery life. Additionally, the sleep mode helps your console download files quickly. To top it all, Nintendo designed this feature so that you can use your console for a long time without any issues.
The biggest concern is with the WiFi/3G connectivity. Some Kindle owners have claimed that their router still shows an active WiFi connection when the device is in sleep mode. However, in my tests, the Kindle promptly disappears from the wireless clients from my Airport Utility after putting it in sleep mode.
Kindles may have been redesigned to avoid this battery drain issue, but if in doubt, you can always turn off wireless when you are not downloading content. In theory, this should guarantee that your Kindle uses the same amount of power in sleep mode as it does when it is powered off (i.e., none.) You can turn off wireless by activating Airplane Mode in the Settings Menu.
It probably does reduce screen life. To me its like having your monitor on screen saver mode all the time. Who wants that? It should leave the screen off while in sleep mode i mean wht do we need this constant screen use of changing images when no ones looking at it anyway :(
As you can see in the video above put together by the folks at GameXplain, it seems that it has been noticed that if you were to put the Nintendo Switch in sleep mode, you will be able to download games faster compared to normal. The exact metrics are unclear since it is difficult to judge as sleep mode does not let you check your progress, but the tests conducted have found that your downloads should be faster by around 15% versus if your console is in use.
It is also why it has been theorized that if you were to put your phone in airplane mode and turn off all connections, your phone should in theory charge faster. In any case this is something you might want to think about if you are looking to improve your download speeds on the Switch.
The Apple sleep mode on Mac is designed to save power and prevent unnecessary wear of your device hardware. However, you may want to keep your computer awake, for example, when you leave it to finish downloading files from the Internet. This article explains how to keep Mac from sleeping.
A Hibernate mode is very similar to sleep, but it has a significant difference. While in Sleep mode, the system saves all your data to your RAM, in Hibernate mode, the system saves the data to your hard disk before it goes to sleep. Due to this, in Hibernate mode, the system awakes not so fast as from the Sleep mode because it needs time to save the data back to RAM. However, it awakes much faster than after turning off your computer.
By default, most settings on Mac you can configure in System Preferences. If you open System Preferences and search for the sleep settings, several sections have configurations connected with Sleep mode.
If you desire a front of room display to automatically switch to Teams Rooms when it wakes from standby mode, certain conditions must be met. This feature is optional but supported by Microsoft Teams Rooms software, provided underlying hardware supports the feature. A consumer TV used as a front of room display needs to support the Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) feature of HDMI. Depending on the dock or console selected (which might not support CEC, refer to manufacturer support documentation), a controller such as an HD-RX-201-C-E from Crestron or Extron HD CTL 100 from Extron may be needed to enable the desired behavior.
If this switch is unticked, AniMe Matrix Lighting will display the default lighting effect (shooting star) after the system goes to Sleep mode (when the computer is connected to AC adapter).
Scenario 2: The lighting effect is not supported when connecting your device to the AC adapter after the system enters Sleep mode. (Even when the switch [Turn off LEDs when device is unplugged] has been set to [on].)
Using Battery power: AniMe Matrix Lighting will display your customized lighting settings or not stay activated (if the switch is unticked) after the system goes to Sleep/Hibernate mode or the Lid is closed mode.
In sleep mode, background processes are running such as phone notifications, online server access and downloads from internet. Some of those tasks may even finish in sleep mode (unlike when your console is shut down) and will be ready to use immediately: for example you can get a notification from this list when your console wakes up.
If you put your Nintendo Switch into sleep mode, background processes are running during the whole time. Background processes can finish in sleep mode and be ready to use immediately after waking up from sleep mode, such as notifications from nintendo eshop or updates.
If you have an active internet connection, your console will automatically download required files, when you open the Nintendo eShop app for the first time in sleep mode. After that, you can access this list of downloads with a simple button press.
Downloading games while your Nintendo Switch is in sleep mode saves time, but it can be difficult if you have an unreliable internet connection. For those who want to download a game while being asleep or without a TV monitor at hand, the best option would be to use one of these three methods: 1) Download from Nintendo eshop directly on hard disk; 2) Use USB drive/microSD card with enough space available for downloads; 3) Or play through docked mode when using tv screen. In any case, make sure that all necessary requirements are met before downloading and save yourself some time!
This article covers troubleshooting steps to resolve issues with Dell computers that do not wake up from sleep, hibernate, or suspend mode. Generally this is the result of an incorrect Power State setting in the BIOS and Windows, or it could be a corrupted driver.
You can run the Windows Power Troubleshooter to adjust your computer's power settings. The Power Troubleshooter checks your computer's timeout settings, which determine how long the computer waits before turning off the monitor display or entering sleep mode.
Using Xbox Series X standby sleep mode will boot up your console almost instantly and will even run at reduced power when off to do things in the background. However, this obviously slowly chews through more power, so you can sacrifice a bit of convenience for a more economical option in the form of the energy-saving Shut-down mode. These two Xbox Series X startup modes give you greater control over how your console starts up and how it behaves while it's powered down. It's an important consideration as letting your console run in the background on Sleep mode is great for installing game updates while you're not using your console, for example, but the power consumption can be over 20x higher compared to the Shut-down mode. If you've found yourself a great Xbox Series X price, here's everything you need to know about the Xbox Series X Shut-down and Sleep modes. 2ff7e9595c
